Lights, Camera, Action

What kind of person attempts to use his powers of persuasion to lead us to believe that war is good? That we should feel positive about war? A war president who no longer uses the word 'war' that's who. George 'Dubya' Bush has been on a cheerleading mission (cheerleading is something he actually does have experience in) to get the American people fired up to feel good about the war in Iraq.

The problem Bush has is that he thinks of the war in Iraq as a television show. Something that can be turned on and off. He usually makes certain to mention the "images we see on our television sets" when discussing the war. I used to joke about it, but now I'm beginning to really believe that he thinks the war is happening in that box. That people, American's and Iraqi's alike, aren't really wounded or killed, that they're all just following a script, and that they've got a stellar make-up and visual effects department. Unfortunately, the budget didn't allow for proper gear and armor, but sometimes when you're making a movie you have to cut corners somewhere, and usually it's the props department. But still, he probably thinks it's the best movie he's ever seen.
"In the face of continued reports about killings and reprisals, I understand how some Americans have had their confidence shaken," Bush told the City Club of Cleveland. "Others look at the violence they see each night on their television screens and they wonder how I can remain so optimistic about the prospects of success in Iraq. They wonder what I see that they don't."

No. We understand why you remain so optimistic...you're clearly certifiable. Bush and his administration, and perhaps the staff at Fox News are the only people still optimistic about this war. Bush might as well of finished the statment, "They wonder what I see that they don't." with, "It's the power switch on the t.v. All you have to do is turn it off when the news gets too bad, then problem solved. No more bad things happening."

He discusses it as if the events aren't really happening and it is the images themselves that are the problem. He did the same thing with the Abu Ghraib photo's as well. So just keep this disclaimer in mind the next time you hear or see news that disturbs you, or puts a damper on the warm fuzzies you might have had for the war in Iraq... All events in the film are completely fictional. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. No animals were harmed during the making of this film... And in no time at all, you'll be able to hold the same positive attitude as our Commander In Chief.
