If Women Ruled the World
I'm pretty much convinced that if women ruled the world there would be much less death and destruction. I'm not talking about the old days of centuries gone by when queens were exclaiming "off with their heads!"...we're past that. Put women in charge and things will start looking a little brighter. War? Feh! Too messy. We'll talk it out. If there is one thing that women can do, it's talk. We'll have group therapy (summits) and resolve our problems like civilized people. If someone (other countries) get out of line all we have to do is give them that look. You know the one. The one that says you better stop that right now and don't make me pull this car over. The budget crisis? What woman can't shop for a weeks worth of groceries for a family of 4 and still have money left over for that perfect pair of jeans? We can stretch a dollar so far you'd swear our currency was made of rubber. We're charitable, nurturing, strong (you try having a child ripped from your loins and get up and walk around the next day), and master negotiators (do you know of any women who aren't able to talk someone into giving them what they want?). And if we aren't able to get what we want, we'll just claim that whatever it was that we wanted wasn't what we really wanted anyway and that we're better off for not having it. We're fickle too.

I have always been puzzled to see woman in Saudi Arabia have to sit in the back seat of the car and cant drive or the Islamic woman here in the USA who think its normal to hide their face behind a veil and they just accept that. They dont leave or fight back.
Or how about woman cant be priests or clergy? If I were a woman and I knew the church would not accept woman as priests I would eel like a second class citizen and, well Im not sure what I would actually do, but I would not be real comfortable with the deal thats for sure.
I think its the travesty of our times. As long as these things continue woman will never truly be considered equals. And its funny, but look at all the things stated above. They are basically religion trying to keep woman down. Islam worse then the others, but each in their own way keeping the fairer sex down. A way to control. Like no meat on friday during lent. Anyone who disagrees with this is blinded by their own religion. Period.
In so far as woman ruling the world. Well, I pray that it doesnt happen because the first thing you will all do is make US sit in the back seat, make sure we cant drive cars and probably figure out a way for men to experience the pain of child birth too. No thanks. Woman have long memories. Or it is mammory's?

One woman's culture is another woman's bewilderment. This is strictly my opinion as I'm no expert in religious culture, but I imagine that they accept it because they believe in their religion with every fiber of their being. Why would they fight back when they believe that there is nothing to fight? What's normal for them isn't normal for us and vice versa.
It's hard to imagine since we were born into a culture that is not ruled by religious fundamentalism. It's a tale of two cultures, if you will.
And one was named Troy! : )
